Sophie Weldon began the Youth for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (YUNHCR) project to engage youth, raise funds and create awareness around the issue of refugees. Inspired by a feeling of helplessness and a passion for sharing personal stories, Sophie used her creativity and new media platforms to motivate other young people to get involved.
“It’s a great opportunity to prove what us as young people are capable of doing” – Weldon
While at Vibewire, Sophie also showcased her final project from her degree at the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School. The SaePod is a mobile space to view, record, and share real stories, giving people a way to capture and share personal experiences.
